Zelensky on the anniversary of the war: “A year of pain, sadness and unity”

Volodimir Zelensky

The President of UkraineVolodimir Zelensky, recalled this Friday (02.24.2023) the first anniversary of the Russian invasion with a message addressed to the Ukrainians in which he defined the last twelve months as “a year of pain, sadness, faith and unit”.

“On February 24, millions of us made a choice. Not a white flag, but a blue and yellow flag (that of Ukraine). Not to flee, but to face. Face the enemy. Resistance and fight” added the Ukrainian president.

He stressed that “it was a year of pain, sadness, faith and unity. And this is a year of our invincibility. We know that this will be the year of our victory!” Zelenski emphasized this in a video message broadcast on his Telegram channel.

“Every Ukrainian has lost someone close to them” since the Russian invasion a year ago,” the Ukrainian president said.

In parallel and in another message published this Friday on his website, the Ukrainian president reported that he has met with the high command of the army to discuss the production of weapons in the country.

“We addressed the issue of the production and supply of ammunition and weapons. Of course, I cannot publicly disclose the details of this. But this is significant work. And I am glad to hear at the meeting of the military high command that even in these conditions we have the appropriate potential,” he said.

Ukraine won’t stop until it “punishes” Russian “murderers”, says Zelensky

Ukraine will not stop “until the Russian murderers are punished,” President Volodimir Zelensky declared in his address to the nation on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of his country.

“We will never forgive them. We will never rest until the Russian murderers are punished. By the international court, by God’s judgment or by our soldiers,” he said in the videotaped speech broadcast on social media on Friday.
