The tycoon owner of Twitter assured that he hopes to find a new executive director of the social network by the end of the year, after announcing last December that he will resign only when he finds someone to replace him.

“I guess probably towards the end of this year it will be a good time to find someone else to run the company,” Elon Musk said in a video call on the last day of the World Summit of Governments, which is being held in Dubai.

During the more than 30 minutes of conversation, he asserted that he needs to “stabilize the organization” and make sure that Twitter is in a “healthy financial situation” and that “the product roadmap is clearly laid out.”

Last December, Musk, who is the sole owner of Twitter, said he would resign from his position as CEO when he finds a replacement, and after that, he will only be in charge of leading the “software” and server management teams.

Concern about fake news, hate speech, AI and ChatGPT

Since Musk took over Twitter last year and announced changes to the social network, several United Nations officials have expressed concern that the new direction Musk wants to print means that the fight against fake news is weakened and hate speech.

Also, during his speech in Dubai, he spoke about artificial intelligence, “something that has to worry us a lot.” He noted that the ChatGPT system “has illustrated to people how advanced Artificial Intelligence is.”

Since its launch at the end of last year, ChatGPT has become a viral phenomenon that has multiplied public interest in the possibilities offered by artificial intelligence.

It has also generated a strong debate about its possible use in areas such as education, after the robot was shown to be capable of writing papers that could be passed off as prepared by a student.
